I have just pub­lished a book.

A set of thir­ty-three pho­tos assem­bled with patience and love,
Gulls is a book which cel­e­brates the joy of look­ing at seagulls.

The book has tak­en many months to com­plete (the first print­ing occurred a year ago) and, since I put a lot of heart into it, inevitably gives me pride and hap­pi­ness. All along the past months I have had the great joy and priv­i­lege to share it with rel­a­tives; now any­one can get a copy thanks to the won­ders of on-demand printing.

Nat­u­ral­ly enough, the con­tents are avail­able are avail­able under a Cre­ative Com­mons BY-NC-SA license, and source files are pub­lished for every­one’s enjoy­ment and re-use. In a burst of half-amused antic­i­pa­tion I also wrote up answers to fre­quent­ly asked ques­tions about the book.

I com­plain often about how things are and how they change but express­ing what I see in this way is an extra­or­di­nary priv­i­lege. Flight, or war, or both: the world is here for us to wit­ness.
